Parents and Community

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are important to Young Life. Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways — by becoming a volunteer leader or committee member, by attending a Young Life fund-raising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids.

Keeping Kids Safe

An important part of our committment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity.Young Life's Human Resources department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders as well as when kids are part of Young Life'sponsored activities.

Opportunities for Adults and Parents

Committee Member
Members of a Young Life committee are adults who are committed to providing every kid in their community the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ in terms they can understand. Committee members pray for Young Life, promote the ministry in the community, care for the local staff and volunteer leaders, as well as ensure the financial health of the ministry.
Financial gifts are essential to Young Life because regional and area staff are responsible for raising 100% of their budgets, which mainly include staff salaries and benefits, administrative costs and programming costs. In Washington County there are numerous ways in which you could help by giving. Click here for more information.
Volunteer Leader
Volunteer leaders are vital to the mission of Young Life. It is their involvement that allows lives to be changed. Young Life leaders participate in a full range of activities that help them build significant relationships with teens. Each Young Life area has a different process for becoming a Young Life leader. Support Roles for Young Life
In Young Life and Wyld Life parents can be a tremendous help to the staff and volunteer leaders by serving on (or starting) a Parent Support Team. This team of adults helps organize, publicize and chaperone Young Life and Wyld Life events. A parent can also help out by hosting a Young Life club at their house once or twice a semester.

Want to Come to Camp With Us?!

Adult Guest Camping
Every year our area is able to bring some adult members of the community with us to Young Life camp. This is an extrordinary opportunity for adults to get a better grasp on what Young Life is all about. Whether you decide to stay for the entire week, or just visit for a few days, we would love for you to join us on our trip to Windy Gap this summer!
